YMC(H)A
Youth Mobilization – Cultural Heritage and Athletic Valorization
The “YMC(H)A” project aims to promote sports and culture in the cross-border region of Greece and Bulgaria. A modern sports center with biometrics facilities was built at the “Neofit Rilski” University as part of the project. Additionally, the Christian Brotherhood of Young People of Thessaloniki (CHANTH) created the first basketball museum in Greece. The museum, inaugurated in December 2013, has a rich collection of historical sports evidence and modern interactive applications. The interactive features include audio-visual material and a virtual basketball game.
Discrimination
The success of the project is evident both from the large attendance of young people at the basketball museum as well as from the awards it has received at an international level. “Neofit Rilski” University received the “Cultural diversity and identity, linguistic diversity and local content” award from the International Communication Union in the framework of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2015.
Contribution
EUROACTION A.E. took the initiative to formulate the proposal and find funding for the project. At the implementation level, our company provided consulting services for the management and coordination of the project from the HANTH side as well as the development of the interactive applications that frame the museum’s exhibits.
