Fostering the use of low temperature geothermal sources through the development of operational exploitation guidelines and green energy solutions of enterprising

The “ENERGEIA” project aims to strengthen the research and analysis of geothermal systems, develop operational implementation guidelines and efficient techno-economic models for green energy use in public and commercial settings. This includes designing, installing, and piloting low-temperature geothermal energy production structures and shallow geothermal systems, as well as researching the use of geothermal energy for rural greenhouses and central heating of municipal buildings and tourist facilities. The project also focuses on developing strategic guidelines for a Geothermal Park and a Strategic Development Plan for potential business applications. The main objectives of the project include improving decision-making for geothermal business applications, providing guidance for operational use, protecting natural resources, and achieving economic benefits from geothermal energy.

EUROACTION S.A. provided technical and advisory support for the project’s management and implementation to the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia Thrace (Lead Partner) and the Region of Central Macedonia. The company’s contributions included coordinating infrastructure installation, preparing studies for geothermal energy use and the creation of a geothermal park, developing a digital platform and informational material, and organizing training seminars.
