Network of Thermal Spring Sources as an Integrated System

The touristic utilization of the Thermal Springs in Greece and BC. it is still at an early stage despite the beneficial properties of the springs and the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The “NTheSSIS” project has as its main objective the promotion of thermal tourism in the cross-border region of Greece – BC. with the main focus being the creation of an Integrated Network of Spa Springs and synergies with agencies and businesses in the tourism sector.

The project’s core activities include:

• 3D Digitization of the project’s thermal springs.
• Workshops aimed at local agencies on the importance of strategic interventions in tourism and the quality of services.
• Tourist Atlas of the thermal springs of the cross-border area.
• Signing of a protocol for the provision of total quality services.

Objectives – Results

• Tourist utilization of existing structures and the existing tourist product.
• Development of a common strategy for the sustainable tourism development of the cross-border region.
• Raising awareness of local bodies for the development of spa tourism.
• Strengthening the tourist image.
• Increasing the number of visitors to the thermal springs of the cross-border area.

Contribution

EUROACTION A.E. took the initiative to formulate the proposal and find funding for the project. At the level of implementation, our company provided consulting services for the management and coordination of the project to the Association of Municipalities of Spas of Greece (Lead Partner) and promotion and publicity services that include the design of a logo, newsletters, funpage, the organization of an international conference on Thermalization, as well as the production of the tourist atlas.

In addition, our company undertook the digitization of the Lagada Thermal Springs, the organization of a visit by tourist agents as well as the preparation of a study for the utilization of the results of the project.
