HEALTHNET

The project entitled “Primary Healthcare Network” and acronym “HEALTHNET” is implemented within the European Territorial Cooperation Program INTERREG IPA CBC Greece – FYROM 2014-2020.

Target

The main objective of the project is the provision of health services in isolated areas. One of the pillars of the health system in Greece is the provision of medical services by the municipalities. This project aims to improve the accessibility of rural areas of the cross-border region to basic medical services. In addition, the cross-border approach will enable the corporate scheme to evaluate and compare the provision of essential medical services by a local one.

Expected results

– Improving cooperation in order to solve common problems related to social cohesion issues.
– Exchange of good practices.
– Creating networks and shared social and health protocols.
– Improving the health services provided and minimizing the conditions that exclude vulnerable social groups, by introducing mobile medical units for these vulnerable social groups that do not have access to health centers.
– Improving services and living conditions for vulnerable groups.
– Reorganization of two medical institutions: the medical unit of the Municipality of Novo Selo and the medical unit of the Municipality of Heraklion.
– Development of two medical ICT systems, one for Greece and one for Macedonia.
– Provision of basic medical care to rural populations, 11,567 Skopians and 21,145 Greek citizens, a total of 32,712 residents of rural areas of the cross-border area.
– Implementation of an innovative approach to the provision of health services by a public authority and a hospital in the cross-border area.

Contribution

EUROACTION A.E. provided consulting support for the management and implementation of the project to the Municipality of Heraklion (Lead Partner-LB). More specifically, the actions undertaken by the company are the management of the “HealthNET” project and the preparation of the project’s management manual.
