The NSRF 2014-2020 is a strategic plan for the development of the country. It relies on significant resources from the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) of the European Union. Its implementation aims to address the structural weaknesses that led to the economic crisis and the related economic and social problems. Moreover, the NSRF 2014-2020 helps in selecting national objectives for the “Europe 2020” Strategy.
The aim of the “Europe 2020” Strategy is to promote a development:
- smart, with more effective investments in education, research and innovation.
- sustainable, thanks to the decisive transition to a low-carbon economy.
- inclusive, with particular emphasis on job creation and poverty reduction.
